My List: 2012 Top Twenty Houston Restaurants for Wine, 4th Edition

Advice for the neophyte and the Connoisseur.

Do you need expert matching of wine and food? 

  • I will propose wines at your price with your food

  • Select wines and BYOB location for your event

 The fee for an event is $50.00 plus $15.00 per wine selection. Most persons select 3-5 wines, but just 1 or 2 is fine. Credit Card only.

I will present a wine course to your group.

  • You select, or have me select, the topics to cover

  • Burgundy, Friuli, Piedmont, Rhone, Veneto, Rioja

 A four or more week course for 10 or more, on wines of France, Italy, Spain, Australia, the United States. The cost per session: is $20 plus wine ($20-50) for each person, plus travel reimbursement.

I will conduct a wine tasting with your group.

  • A "normal" tasting size is 10 servings per bottle

  • I suggest offering 4-6 different wines for a tasting

 One session. Best for groups of six to thirty, I will make comments and lead the group through a discussion.  I arrange for the wine appropriate for your food and for your event. $100 + $50/hr of event/travel time.

I will help you to find the wine you want.

 Tell me the characteristics of the wine (or the exact wine), and I will locate a wine in Houston or elsewhere.$25 per wine. Texans and some other states' residents cannot legally receive retail  shipments from out-of-state.
WINE FACTS: The red wines of Burgundy, France are made of 100% Pinot Noir grapes.
